Table Tennis Player Feng Tianwei Joins SportSG
Singapore’s official sports agency announced that Feng Tianwei will be joining its ranks. It was reported that the Republic’s top table tennis player and recipient of the most Olympic medals in the sport will be joining the organization’s sports development group to help create table tennis-specific routes for children and young people to get involved in the sport.

The household online betting Singapore athlete of table tennis is also beginning a two-year master’s program in sports industry management at Peking University‘s Department of Physical Education Teaching and Research.
A spokesperson also shared that she will be working part-time, putting in an average of eight to ten hours per week and that her education will set her up for future growth within SportsSG’s ranks.
Like many other elite athletes, Feng has admitted that she is ready to move on from competitive sports. She plans to depart for Beijing at the end of September. She is proud of her contributions to Singapore thus far, and she feels it is appropriate for her to pay back in a new way.
She went on to say that she enjoys athletics but has no interest in learning about or participating in the sport’s broader ecology. She hopes that, with her background as an athlete and continued education, she would be able to better grasp the sports business in the region.
It’s payback time

Feng argued that retirement was a logical conclusion and not a sign of defeat. After a dramatic comeback from a 3-0 deficit in the singles final versus compatriot Zeng Jian, the World No. 18 won gold in the women’s team, singles, and doubles competitions at the Games in Birmingham and won the hearts of Singaporeans with her teary performance of Majulah Singapura atop the podium.
When asked if she planned to stay in the Republic of Singapore for the foreseeable future, she gave a positive answer in the same interview.
The Harbin-born Feng, who became a Singaporean citizen in 2008, has an impressive medal haul, including nine gold, three silver, and one bronze from the Commonwealth Games, as well as three Olympic medals: a team from Beijing 2008 (Silver) and a singles and team from London 2012 (Bronze).
Her two-point contribution to Singapore’s 3-1 triumph against China in the final of the 2010 World Team Table Tennis Championships stands as the high point of her career. The right-hander has battled through discomfort in her right ankle, both knees, and playing wrist, where plenty of the cartilage has worn out and she cannot rotate it, among other ailments and difficulties.
A shift in career
Feng said in an interview that table tennis has been her life’s focus for a long time. She has yet to explore numerous possibilities. Time for her to discover a new approach to life as the years begin to catch up with her.
